It was 30 lbs under ABPA EP minimum. The bottom was typical blueprint (straight, sharp, covered with SLIP Plate), but we raised the pad ~1/4" to stop the hooking, back then, the skeg extension was not allowed. |

In Michigan, the race event with the largest # of boat entries is Topo by far. Always over 90 boats! Organizing a marathon would surely attract participation and be a memorable weekend for all with alot of exposure. (possibly the Grand River from Dunnville to Brantford on day 1 and back on day 2). h... |

- dock holder lifts the back of boat at start, steering wheel on stomach - trim set for optimal hull angle of attack (just less than 4 degrees) - shoulder sided seat for the the corners http://oi64.tinypic.com/awor3q.jpg

4 voodoos -1st in 1987 (150 lbs): raced once in Quebec, broke it after race in front of Jim's place -2nd in 1987 (165 lbs): raced for rest of 1987, broke and sank in Detroit river -3rd in 1988 (180 lbs): raced in 1988 and 1989, sold to Graham "somebody". Wish I knew if it was still out th... |

sure, no shifting and changing lube very frequently is a major life extender, but they are the weakest part of the motor. every OMC X-class boat blew their gearcase at topo one year as the thundercats are particularly hard on gearcases. I have never seen a merc gearcase fail with the except of them ... |
