hey guys, just picked up a new project for myself. its a hydrostream valero. needs about as much work as what you would expect from a project, new floor, transom and stringers with new core if need be. paints a must, im thinking something similar to our 13 checkmate at the moment. for a motor im considering another johnny build. we are quite happy with the 225 on the panther, so why not do another lol. its gonna be a while before its water ready but im looking for some setup advice if possible and any info on how hydrostreams handle. never been in one before so im hoping to get a little info about it. happy boating!

im hoping my dad can send me some pictures of it, ive only seen one picture of it lol. any thoughts on motors? im having a hard time deciding what i want to power the boat, 2.4 or 2.5 merc or another big block johnny. its a tough one, the johnny has so much pull through the mid range im tempted to build one as a 16" mid with a merc lower unit. decisions decisions

I was thinking 2.4 cause it's alittle bit lighter but still has some power. I still really want to do a 16" johnrude build, any thoughts? I found a company that makes them, I'd just need to cut the swivel. I just want todays classes over with so I can come home and see the boat lol

Great project.
Just a comment on the trailer, think it's an old Caulkins.
Man, they were built, don't make em like that anymore. Looks like you could haul a 24 on it.
Good luck with your build.
