i would love to get this thing to G hurst i mounted the motor last night and because its a 20" transom i need almost 10" of set back for my steering cylinder to miss the top of the transom to get my motor low enough to work since its a 16"... not ideal with a 3.1..


From where this picture is taken the motor has to go down 4.5" to be level with the pad.. only way i see it happening is with a set of 4" plates..

Why don't you just run your 20" mid for the time being then get the venom and rocket fixed up over the winter?

Ya unfortunately no short shaft will work unless you have the correct offset plate on a 20" transom. I ran an offset 8" Hydrodynaimcs plate.

How was the handling with that much setback?

I'd sent James the link to Hydrodynamic as I remembered thats what you had done.
