The rods are factory MOD50 long rods. Tim had the set brand new as was the MOD50 block all brand new parts he had as NOS.

As I live in Calgary Alberta and my lake is Northern Sask, I don't think the rules you guys have will be much use for me! :-)

I'm looking for a white stinger cowl with the checker flag logos, anybody have one for sale?

The checkered flag decals are available on EBay under Johnson 75 HP Stinger decals.

Oh, though i posted this yesterday, did not go for some reason. The rods in my MOD50 are factory new OMC MOD50 long rods, there were purchased from Tim along with a factory new NOS MOD50 block with removable sleeves.

As I live in Alberta and my Critch is lake boat in northern sask, the racing rules you guys have for me are in the trash can! :-)

Here is an update to my build on my 2013 Critchfield , I have restored the Cowl, exhaust housing, gearcase, swivel mount of the 1976 Johnson Nitro Stinger I purchased this summer so I can use this motors parts to fit with my MOD50 motor. All the parts are beautifully prepared, everything was walnut blasted clean and detailed, all flashings on castings smoothed, then concours paint! I will be using the powerhead from this motor on the Orange Stinger Nitro that I'm putting together for my old 1973 Crestliner Spoiler boat.

Reg...I really love these projects!! That boat will be deadly once it's rigged.

But...my "badass Supra" detector is going crazy...what's the deal with the car?????

I will be posting the nitro gear case assembly video soon on youtube, i will post the link to this on this thread and the thread on my 1973 Crestliner Spoiler Nitro 75. I have done the two nitro cases for the Critchfield and the Crestliner, the assembly video was done on the build of the orange case for my Crestliner Nitro, I shot and the video's on my iPhone 6, and now I just have to edit it and put them up for you guys. I'm going to leave them as a multi-part series so you can go back easily to any section you want to watch.

For now - a few pictures of the nitro guts, and the OMC shimming tool as well, and of my new, almost finished, 2013 Critchfield, as its almost done, I have the motor all setup and rigged . See Photos below!

This is the full minimum tool list that you need to do your own gear cases on the gear case assembly video series. I have the full shimming kit, but really you only need five tools, not expensive to buy. See last pictures on this post for tool pictures.

OTC 7295 snap ring removal tool, works on all gear cases out there
OMC BRP 312752 Drive shaft 4 spline socket for torquing pinion nut.
OMC BRP Shimming bar pn# 328365 3" Nitro Gear Case 2 and 3 cylinder gear case prop shaft shimming bar.
OMC BRP Pinion Nut holding tool, this guy lets you insert the pinion nut into the prop housing to start the thread on the main drive shaft, then you torque the nut with the OMC socket for four spine drive shaft and 11/16 regular wrench.

Hello guys. I thought I would post some final pictures on my Critchfield with MOD50, I took her up to the lake and ran the motor in and had a lot of fun learning how to drive it, thanks to Paul C and Thom B for all their help answering all my dumb questions on how to build and drive a race boat! :-)

I have not had the MOD50 out to wide open and trimmed up only one click from full down, that said I did manage to get a good flat lake day where I managed to get her up to 73 MPH, see picture of the Voyager GPS gauge that was installed in the boat, thanks Top Gun Marine for that gauge, its really nice! The motor has an incredible easy to rev, i'm sure it will hit 9000 if i was to nail it down, thanks again to my friend Thom Bucknell, that is a screaming motor for sure, more than I can handle so far.

Some learning how to drive lessons, not going fast don't worrry

On way from launch to my boat house cart rail system, not going fast don't worry
Image

In the bay near my cabin showing of and yes, not going fast don't worry
Image

On the rails after first test ride, now to check carbs, compression, gear oil, yada yada yada, hay my nice paint job pealed off just like Thom and Paul said it would! That’s my Dads old 1972 Vanguard Predator in the boat house, I did a custom motor for it last year with Yamaha PRO50 Power trim and tilt
Image

Nifty Voyager GPS gauge that Paul K put in the boat before he sold it to me worked great until I updated the firmware the last day at the lake, the firmware upgrade crashed it!

My nice paint job that I went to so much trouble to do, :-Q

To answer your question on the bad ass Supra yes that’s my old race car, we raced the car for 7 years with support from Toyota HKS and TRD. I still own the car and drive it as my summer street toy, its 620 HP at the wheels with good fuel.
