Started as a quick recore...ended up building a new boat. it is literally one of a kind and VERY close to my heart. Jon has done an excellent job finishing the project with a beautiful interior and a near perfect "150".

A completely new boat or you just fully restored it? What materials were used? I've seen my fair share of chargers but non like this! Great job - the motor really brings it all together

We built a new hull and re-gelled the original balsa deck. We used the original SK mold and modified it to match the DL (or at least the version of the hull that came with the boat).

We used 5/8" balsa, Baltic birch in the transom and stringer...mahogany knees/strong box...I can't remember all the details anymore lol. I asked for an 18' Tuff...so it was built very similarly lol. There are a tonne of little things about the boat that are different..the closed well that matches the curve of the deck, etc.

I would have loved to see the project to the end but Jon has done a better job than I would have with the interior and windshield. I'd still love to blueprint the bottom then jack the motor to the moon...just to see if it'll go like I think it will..

A lot more than just restoring it! Was it originally the same colour gel? Aren't the SK and DL hulls identical? Just out of curiosity why did you choose wood over composite material - just aiming to build a Tuff replica? I ask because I'm building a boat this fall and I'm debating on using all composite to avoid rot ... Sorry for all the questions
