Is "kona" the final answer? Is that the make or the model?

google results didn't help verify...

I can't comment on whether that specific boat is a Kona or not, but Kona was a California company that made more of the low-profile jet-boat/flatbottom v-drive style of boats as opposed to outboards. I've seen a couple of those in BC.

Looks to be moving at a breakneck pace..... :(

Yeah, from what I saw from my research on Kona, this does not look like a Kona. But maybe it is an some odd low volume, not very popular model of hull..

So I guess it is a mystery of what that hull actually is; since I've had never seen one before and never seen one since, and I'm pretty curious about its origin.

thanks,
M

I had a Kona many moons ago.
It didn't look anything like that one.

I'm certainly no expert on this, but I don't think it's a Kona. Although the one in the pics is cool.
Here are some pics of the one I had and it's basically a Sidewinder LoPro. They were also sold as Tahiti's
The orange one we saw on Chemong was a 23' jet, with a cutty. Very kewl old California style boat. Like an old Sleekcraft.
You might notice my co-pilot in one of the pics - Gryph. The Blue one is also a Kona. My cousin still has it from new in around '73.

Hopefully we can find out what it actually is - if its not a Kona.

did a bunch of searching and I've come to the conclusion that it is a Regatta. made in Arizona or Cali...
