Nice work on the boat and killer 70hp shortie, the motor looks sweet! What year is that hood from?

Thanks, motor is a JohnMaha, just sat it on to see what it looked like. I will need to build or find a bracket to get it lower, transom may need some modification/ be cut down.

Decals are 97'-98 I think.

Made some progress last night, got all of the foam out of the stern of the boat. This foam is mostly dry so the weight savings is minimal. I estimate I have removed 8 - 10 lbs. from the boat now. This is a real pain, but the result will be a clean boat.
Work took about 1.5 hours last night. Photos are shitty.

Yep, pretty bad timing! That is a good boat. The guy I sold it to promised to sell it back to me but never made good on it.

I sold him the hull and trailer, complete interior, brand new bucket seat, steering for $2,200... oh to be young again!

The boat did race at Gravenhurst after you sold it. It ran well compared to other similar VooDoos with long shaft, big gear case motors. It would be interesting to compare performance by just switching to the gear case to the nitro case.

I was just getting out for Vking dusk run, saw you coming up to Crooked Bay narrrows; almost stopped to shoot crap with others floating but thought to chase you down lake to TCda Bay.
McVDoo was running very nice, trimmed right; guessing you were getting 64-5mph out of it?
I'll bring Voodoo out next time, have same engine cowl. Drop into Long Lake next time for a boot.
Cheers

Nice to see the boat back with its original owner. The long shaft nitro drive shaft was at Top Gun a few years ago. Maybe Paul still has it.

So what's the plan now for that blue/blue one that's had the reno started?
