20". Long.

I have mine setback 5" and up from the jackplate approx. 4". The prop runs fully submerged. I'm guessing with a bit more setback or with a surfacing prop, short shaft could work.

Food for thought.
Be looking for a home for a 52 short shaft at some point in the future.
Have surfacing props but I can't help but think running a Playmate as a performance hull kinda defeats the intended purpose.
AND... do I want another project??

For the right price.......add a nice set back.....centre steer......60hp short shaft Merc....good prop.....CLASSIC!!!
Likely competitive in the 45 to 50 mph HOBBY.

Humber Jewel with a 50 was big time in the day. I remember going to Honey Harbour back in the 70's. Seemed every kid had a Jewel with a 33 Johnny. Course we were all light enough to ski behind a 33 in those days... Lol

Ya, I've got a fresh Classic 50 as well on the Zodiac.
Think a 52 would be way better than those 44's

Those mercury trim systems will work with the yamaha/marine clamp brackets.
