Nope..what you are looking at is an early back half of an airbox. They are aluminum and have a nice radius into the carb mouth. It also holds the choke solinoid.

I'm going to try it with the cover on and off to see if it's any different. I actually prefer some sort of airbox when possible.

Almost like a Velocity Stack with no cover on it !

Sitting on my bench still lol. I'm almost done working on other stuff so I can work on my own lol.
