After just having our Mazda RX8 in for service and driving it again. I started thinking how good that little rotary performs. Smooth as silk and BIG RPM.
So why not put that motor into a 16 foot V hull with an outdrive. They race that motor in the Mazda open wheel race car and it turns RPMs in the teens! In a light V hull or maybe even a Mod V hull this combination would attract a lot of attention.
Has anyone ever heard of this type of boat?

How about a jet drive?

I still like the outboard Wankle idea. I don't know what prevented the idea from going further. It would be cool to hear one run

Someone just posted on another site that he built a surface drive Chris craft with a wankel in it, he's looking for a prop to work with his drive
