Check for air leaks...the bleed system was blocked off on that block and it never looked all that great.

I put low compression heads on it and it pulled hard and put up good numbers...

Had it for a year and never got more than 5 h out of a rebuild.

Doc. The ignition is micro computer with the limiter cut. I checked the tps voltage and it's within spec.
Took the gas jets and made them 8 thou bigger, seemed ok but egt was high so made top and bottom 14 thou over. Seems rich now. But egt is still high. Don't want to blow it up again..

Once again do not rely on EGT until you know the jetting is close. Many EGT read what they read. Now what you read from plugs and Pistons is more important. Then you can baseline your EGT. EGT can be reading flame temp. . . Etc etc.

Your EGT's could be high because the knock sensor is pulling timing and pushing more of the flame out the exhaust. Yammer has more experience with running compression on these motors but I know my 225 is on the edge of knock with stock compression and stock jetting...I always thought the pumps had a tough time keeping up. I really never saw a benefit of tighter heads on a motor that was already designed to run on 91...

The two pistons I've blown up are melted/ scuffed right on the exhaust side. And only on the lower cylinders.
Is 110 psi high for compression?
Is it worth going electric for the fuel pump?
