The racers would know better then me but pretty sure the 2 cyl stuff was all 12:29 which is 2.42, the good gears are 15/28 which is 1.86/7

As far as I know, there was only one ratio for the 2cyl OMC which was 2.42.

OK so if there is not another gear ratio should I go down in pitch if the motor doesnt reach max rpm. Have a 60 hp on a pontoon boat with a 12 1/2 x 13 prop and 4200 rpm is all I can get.

I'm guessing so if the engine is working right.

You could probably go down in pitch and up in diameter. Larger diameter should push the weight better, right?

Thats what I am thinking. The prop is off my 40 that was on the pontoon and i thought it would be fine but I guess 20 hp makes a differance.

maybe you should borrow a test wheel to make sure that motor is working right? I assume you had that prop on a 40hp on the same boat? you went to 60hp and it won't pull the prop to max rpm?

x2. Wondering if it's working right. If you are using the same prop with same gear ratio, 20hp more should be showing the opposite effect.
