The 59 cubic inch 60 hp Mercury is a 3 cylinder one liter motor. The SST120 Mercury is a 6 cylinder 2 liter motor that makes over 200 hp in race tune. The mod guys maybe leaving the 60 hp motor at one liter and have found different pistons and modified the porting to get the 100 hp out of it. They have a 49 cubic inch Yamaha down there that is built from a 42 cubic inch 50 hp. I have tried to get info on it on Ron Hills site with no luck.

I looked around once for higher compression pistons for blind bore Mercs, no luck.
Sounds like custom cubic $$ pistons to get 100 hp from a 3 cylinder Merc.

jeff dunn makes hi comp pistons for 59ci mercs .
i thought the sst 120 were a v6 with one side blocked off . so a 3 cyl moter?
pretty sure a 52 / 59 block will bolt up to the same mid , might need to get the right gasket to suit.
not sure if the 40/50 cranks run the same splines as a 55/ 60 . but a 60hp 52 box will bolt straight on a 59 60hp .

you're thinking sst90 it's a half a 2.4l v6. the sst120 is a 2.0l v6
