Last, don't automatically think you need a cleaver style prop. In a race application they have shown to be better. For a single seat application, non variable loads and a well balance and well set up boat cleavers are very good. For a lake runner you will likely find a chopper prop better. Cleaver props lift the stern and generally provide little bow lift. A chopper prop makes much more efficient use of your power trim and it will lift the nose. Choppers work better with more than one person in the boat and they bite better coming on plane especially with a heavier load.
