Two trailers;
Doesn't have to be 5th wheel, BUT;

MUST be commercial registered tow vehicle, witch means that every year you need a safety inspection for the tow unit.
For the last year I have chased the ministry about this because RVs on some sizes can tow two trailers without being commercial registered and that seems to be another grey area re: the plating.
Commercial registry seems to be the key, which I find strange, cause a station wagon or SUV can be commercially registered. Go figure. Have registered both in the past.

Erik there should be an adjustment for your wider Voo Doo. Maybe tilt a couple more degrees.

Todd the cradle has total hull support and tilts as a complete unit. The stress on the boat should not be any greater.

Al, these trailers are not in line. They are side by side. The trailers when combined form ONE trailer with a single tonque and look the same as double watercraft trailer. They have been sold for a few years.

Yes I understand about the side-by-side, I was referring to inline, sorry for the confusion.

Test of 2 side by side trailer.
Still some changes, but the idea works.

With this set up you can add a centre support under the boat. The boat will be heavier with the motor on. At the races you could do the initial launch with the boat in the angled position. Then reposition the cradle with no weight on it. The single trailer takes up very little space and works well as a Boat Show trailer and a shop trailer. You can put a boat on one side and a PWC on the other side.

What about a pulley system with a hand winch instead of pulling the boat from side to side? That could be easier for when there is a motor on the boat. Just throwin ideas around...

Second, unless you just enrolled in Gr 11 Physics: Friction, Levers & Pulleys, get back to interpretive dance class.
No surfin til school ends 3:40pm.
PS: you regained sphincter control, or Mom washin diapers again at the creek tonite?

Keep the suggestions coming. We were thinking of a hydralic cylinder and rollers on the cradle. It will all depend on how heavy the rigged boat is and how often you want to shift the position. At a race 4 guys could move it with ease. We even thought of an additional vertical frame attached to the middle trailer tongue. It would go up between the two boats. There would be a bunk on the top of that frame on which you mount a hydro. Now it is a 3 boat trailer.

UP-date..The first trailer will be finished this month. It will go to Dave Elsey's and we will test fit both an Allison and a VooDoo. We will also look at additional pieces that can be added to the trailer. The trailer will be at Waterford with 2 boats on it, so people can see how it works.

Hyroid Junior came up with another good idea at lunch. He thought racers who only had one boat should partner with another racer who had one boat. They buy one side by side trailer. Each now has their own trailer to use. When they go to a race they can use one vehiche to tow both boats on the side by side trailer. That reduces the cost to get the boats to the race. Another advantage is the individual trailers are shorter and narrower than a normal trailer. You can store 2 boats in an area 8 feet wide.
