I had the 18" chopper and the 12X20 prop mentioned above with a 70 Nissan. A 23 SRX took it to 57.6 on my GPS. All 3 hit the rev limiter. I miss that boat but time constraints make it pointless to replace it. When would I use a 3rd boat.

Was the nissan a twin cylinder? They had a high gear ratio, so the props would be to small a pitch. I only know of two 12 x 20 props in Ontario. Brian Sherriff had one and I still have my prop. Bet you got Brian's. That prop on a 49 Mercury with a 2 to 1 foot is very nice on a VooDoo.

Thanks for all the info guys,
We picked up a clean 1989 60 Mercury today from a friend of mine. Now all we need to find is a chopper prop for it. Will be swapping out the motor over the winter. My son can't wait!

Yes, I bought Brian's 20" prop. And the 2 cyl Nissan was geared too low for that prop, which is why I thought I needed the Merc 60. Not sure the 23SRX was ideal, but it was the fastest prop I tried.

For some reason the Nissan came with a nose cone.

MXZ, you will have a lot of fun with a 60 on your VooDoo.
