BTW, if someone needs a 750 motor I've got a Sizzler that we may run for a week or 2 on Jr's 15R before we swap the Hustler into the mix.......

Sorry what's a sizzler?[/quote]

Another hull option (like I need to confuse this thread anymore but...)
As an inflatable enthusiast with a ThunderCat and Zodiac I'm always on the lookout for anything new and guess what, I noticed at the Boat Show yesterday that many of not most inflatable manufacturers now offer small and medium sized hulls with aluminum hulls... About time cause Air-Floors are awful at speed and their glass hulls are poor quality and heavy not to mention poorly geared towards performance.
Now I'll admit some of what I saw are light gauge and what could be loosely referred to as the pad varied widely from 24" wide flat to something narrower but the good news is that aluminum is easily modified, you don't have to worry about floatation and these hulls can easily do dual duty for racing and fishing.
Seems like a pretty safe place to start from at about $2k up depending on manufacturer.

I'm planning on replacing my Zodiac Rib (rigid) with one of these sometime this year as aluminum make so much more sense than poorly assembled glass/wood/glue and god knows what else.
Need an excuse to buy a 200A Tig Welder anyways.

Tom can you post a link to one of these hulls. I would be interested in knowing more.
Would this be one?

Yes, you got it.
Zodiac, Brig and many others offered aluminum.
I didn't have a camera with me at show. Will ask Adam to take pics when he goes on Saturday. That way we'll get a better idea of hull shapes and design.

In Michigan, the race event with the largest # of boat entries is Topo by far. Always over 90 boats! Organizing a marathon would surely attract participation and be a memorable weekend for all with alot of exposure. (possibly the Grand River from Dunnville to Brantford on day 1 and back on day 2).

and yes, Dinghy Derby boats are cheap, cool and built with new OEM boats and motors
