Which SRV was it. There was a yellow, gray, black, and white? Am I missing one?

You're missing one...the first white one Rob used as the plug.

I agree that the stock OMC fishing case isn't the best approach for such big numbers. But just for everyone's awareness, it is not an unsurmountable barrier. Second Effort (OMCs version of Merc High Perf) made a factory high perf LWPU case with a great big skeg back in the 80s. Kind of like a Sportmaster but ahead of its time, that case could probably do it but they are as rare as hens teeth. You can also add onto the stock skeg with a segment of a replacement Sportmaster skeg.

And of course in the right hands, with days and days and days of grinding, that block can make enough power to get the boat there. Not sure if anybody wants to be in an SRV at 117 Kenny care to comment on how "relaxing" 114 is

Oh anything can be done...but you can see the stock small skeg in the pics. I'm quite confident that it would crab walk so bad with a big cleaver that teens would be out of the question. And the fact he cut up his own prop...

Ah gotcha, I have not seen the pics, but that makes sense. I heard about the homemade prop mods, equally dubious lol.

Ya..if the conversation went "I just broke in my new Dave Bush powerhead, finished dialing in my Mark Weigl sized skeg and tested out my Dewalt 34....ended up running 115 at 7500". I'd be like...hmmm..thats pretty impressive. But claiming 117 in a boat that likely won't run over 114 (or whatever Ken has run) with a homemade motor, stock skeg and a home modified prop....i call shenanigans...

Not sure if the SRV will run 117 without taking flight  …after 110 the boat gets very flighty and wants to lean on ya, which is scary in itself, bang the trim again and the boat brings the nose up even higher and leans hard to the right and gets a few more mph…
to Quote James Cole " the fear of death kicks in around 110 mph and you get out of it…
Definitely not the most comfortable feeling getting that boat back down into the water at those #'s

Mine does the lean at 102...but my motor is still pretty low.

Did he say he did block work as well? Or is it supposed to be a stock 200HO powerhead? How did that boat run with the 280 on it?

he said 106 but ken passed him doing 100 like he was tied to a dock...... so......i figure its that custom only omc gps he has.

To me 106 is totally believable with a 280...it has all the right parts and honestly with 260 electrics that should be a very fast combo.

If there were more speed in the boat Ken would have gone faster...

what did bagman run with a 300 drag on the kevlar yellow one? ..
