i know its way more fun to rip on people for making bold claims that are so out of this world it makes it too easy to make fun of them..

i figure we could shed some light on someone that's actually doing something impressive with a turd BRP..

Imagine how fast it would go with a Merc :D .. even if it's legit im still going to talk shit :D

the first issue i see with this setup is the fact they need a 35p prop and are still all over the rev limiter.. why only 1 gear ratio from brp..

everything being equal a merc with a 1.62 ratio would run 115..

Fuck the Merc...put an SHO on it and Rev it to 7200.

That is truly impressive for a regular consumer engine. One thing to note...check out the skeg. Some people are dumb...Mark isn't one of them.

If BRP continues to offer a 'one size fits all' mentality Merc will remain king of the performance segment. It's too bad really because competition breeds better products and so far Merc has no real competition so it can continue to offer whatever it wants.

OMC and yamaha guys have always had to deal with lower unit issues in order to go fast. The yamaha lower runs just over 100 without mods but you still have to mess with the water pickups to get height. Merc hasn't had competition in the high performance segment in decades...thank goodness for the aftermarket!!

It's very impressive that we can buy and with very little mods run 100mph in a 24' boat with a motor that gets decent mileage and has warranty. Back in the "hay day" you couldnt really do that. Sure you could buy a 260 throw it on a rocket and go teens but no warranty, no longevity, no convenience (40:1...the chick's just love mixing gas)....

It's good to see performance boats being built that actually suit the engines being produced today. Albeit the Ugliest engine produced since the OMC rotary  .

Close to 100 with a BRP gearcase is very impressive. How high do they run the engine?
