I love motoman but remember he is usually dealing with 4 stroke engines. I've ALWAYS broke shit in HARD...with the exception of HPDI's (that kills them fast).

I've always been a fan of his velocity porting as well.

Interesting read. What would be the difference trying to break in a 2 stroke vs Motoman's 4 stroke procedure? Isn't sealing rings dealing rings either way?

No difference really lol....in terms of ring sealing anyway. In fact it's easier on a 2stroke to break in in this manor because there isn't a valve train to worry about and the bearing in the bottom end are rollers so they are already broken in...and they will deal with contaminated oil better than the babit bearings in a 4stroke..

I was just pointing it out...

Cool. So what are the opinions on this fast type of break in? A long break in would likely take me 13 summers so I am intrigued by Motoman's posts about this topic.

just let it eat dubber. :D jump in it and put er too the floor. let of and stomp on and off the pedal a few times, consider it broken in......or broken.the one and only way to find out if you got a fast one.

Agreed on the don't linger too long at any one RPM range...Motoman seems to imply this.

Or start it on a late September night. And rev it to 9k on a boat lift. Literally the exact same thing as break in.
