Good grief I never thought anyone would go to all this fabrication when there are lots of good short shaft midsections and other parts on the market. But, at this location that must not be the case because this transformation is something they are doing on a regular basis.
You have to be impressed with the craftsmanship.
We could certainly use their ideas in shortening some of the only available in 20 inch models to short shafts.
One advantage with this 30 Yamaha was the short clamp bracket assembly. It didn’t need any modifications for this transformation.

Amazing finish on that, you wouldn't know it wasn't short from factory
