Its not dialed in yet so reserve to comment.

I was able to get my Dads setup to 97 with just me and under 1/2 a tank of fuel. I'm pretty sure some tweaks a different prop and almost empty tank I'l have Dads toping 100.

So I have a little pressure to make sure mine is at least as fast ...... could be touch and go!

Got to get my dad's smart gauge in as my TACH is reading 300rpm less than my smart gauge, that makes a big difference in fine tuning top end props....

from what i'm seeing, you and your dad are the only ones running that much of setback. whats the reason behind this? is it only so you can run those 15in mids??. i'm also interrested to see what will be the difference between a flashed and un-flashet ecu.

I ran my dads with only 8" of setback, just too much trim to carry the nose. Yes it would do it but it did not feel right when I accelerated I had to over trim the boat to get it to pop.

The Talon in not an STV so since we won't be turning like I did in my STV the setback really won't affect its handling aside from moving the centre of gravity of the boat back a little.

I really liked Dads after we added the setback as it carried the boat much easier and in rough water I can now trim the nose higher at mid speeds to better handle the waves.

It's draw back is goin on and off plane the motor goes further down exposing the back of the cowl to more water, but no worse than many hydrstreams I've seen in the past.

I have no idea if this is the setback well stay at, but initial testing it "felt good" I'll need to get more seat time to decide.

As an example Balzy and my Dad ran some where near 18" plus setback on thier HSTs. To get them to run well.
