Also, getting an OMC would be cool, but the boats already rigged for a Merc and has some nice Mercury Guages too. I never would have considered an OMC before, but they have grown on me over the years. :) I do have an extra set of OMC controls though... hmmmm

Anybody know if a stock crossflow could compete with a Merc 200? It's really about getting the best deal and having a reliable motor that is still competitive.

thats sweet boat... ever thought about putting a nice yamaha excel on it? its basically a product improved omc..solid 225 hp.

Not sure Boomer? What about weight? If it's cheap and reliable I'm interested in that option... plus there are some guys on here that know a thing or two about them! ;)

Nice! You are going to have fun with that boat. I have always liked Vectors :)

As for the excel I think they are around 440lbs or so. An old thread about them is here. Have fun picking some power :)

Awesome Dave!

Gonna be sweet with what ever power you run...what kinda trolling motor you gonna run!

If you go the OMC route talk to Matt (OMCforme) he's "the guy" for those motors.

Thanks guys. That Excel thread was a good one for sure! ...thanks LC, my wife said NO to the bass boat idea. 4 seats was a must have. Oh, and the windshield helped the cause too! (Functional or not) :D

Hi Dave, glad to see the boat has ended up in good hands!
With a little bit of pad work I bet it will run great!
I don't think I ever really had the boat set up right but it was a blast to drive.
I always regretted selling that interior with the boat. The seats are super comfy and I mounted them as low as I could. I always thought it looks/feels goofy having the seats in a hydrostream mounted up high.

I'm sure P@ said his windshield works very well.

As far as power goes...you know my vote...but...some of those OMC's are pretty cool but it takes a bit of work to get them there. Those guys from Wisconsin on SF have some sweet slOMC's but they also have a ton of work into them and that's totally cool if that's your plan. I think bolting on a stock 2thirsty5 may be a bit disappointing...IMO

Congrats on the new boat! Great too see more competition coming out for formula for next year. I'm a huge promax fan - good power and reliability.

Thanks guys for the support and Thanks Pat for the pictures! Knowing the history of this boat is worth so much to me. I especially love the interior too. I sat in it and it just felt right. I think the flake is pretty cool too, but Melissa HATES it! She keeps making Magnum PI and Starski and Hutch references, etc Lol!

Some kind of Gray with a touch of white and black might be a nice compromise. I want to tie in the colours of the seats in some way.
I do like that SRV in Gray... Heck, I just like that SRV in general
