I've seen a bunch of different setups on these Vectors, and a shit ton of owners complain about handling characteristics with anything on the heavier end, like 2.5s, 2thirsty5s and the like. I'd love to see a high rpm 2.0, like an old F1 motor or something. Save some weight, sound like a pissed off sewing machine full of those Africanized Bees and maybe be a little more driveable than the average vector. I'd do it with my Vision, but I already have the EFI 2.4 and no budget lol

Don't think there's much advantage to a 2 liter. They are actually heavier then the 2.4 and 2.5

Good info, I always thought the 2.0 was lighter

I'm rigging a Ventura II with a 2.0, weight saving isn't the goal, saving $$ on fuel is while keeping the fun factor up and build cost down. Lot's of 2.0's out there dirt cheap and if I ever get the urge I can easily drop on a 2.5 power head.

The Ventura II is a great boat. Sounds like a great plan. I have always liked the 2 liter motors. That boat will be a lot of fun. Post a picture of it when you get a chance.

Considered a Mariner?
Grey & orange....put an orange pin stripe on the boat....look mint.
There's a Mariner Super Mag (ProMax) 150 for sale in the Oshawa area.
If you're interested I'll track down the guys number and get it to you.
Motor is mint and the seller is motivated.

I saw that one on Kijiji Greg. That's a really nice motor for sure. It's likely out of my budget... well actually, I don't really have a budget at this point :( I have a nice family bowrider with a 3L Mercruiser to sell. Baby steps...

Keep the ideas coming :)

So, I have a 1990 stock 2.0L 150 Mariner to work with now. I am rebuilding it over the winter and getting parts, props, and advice from at least 4 different guys on this site. Gotta love the boating family! :)
