Here is a pic of planing a 30hp Johnson cylinder head in a dewalt thickness planer. Started with a badly warped head. Flattened it and took 0.060" off the business side. Turned out very well.

Clever... It never occurred to me to deck a head with my thickness planer..
Happy with the result?

I am happy with how the process worked. It is not possible do on all heads. I have hot compared the performance to a stock head. I have a test wheel now so I can evaluate changes.
