The Rapid Craft River Racer model without the cell didn't have a rear cowl at all. It may look even nicer with a flat rear cowl especially if your running a 4 to 6 inch set back. A flat rear cowl with those sides filled in to the transom will put the focal point on the engine cowl. If you paint the motor cowl and the boat similar it will all blend together.

Dave Elsey's new Allison has a similar look with the rear cowl on. I would not be surprised if Dave used a low flat rear cowl on his.

good choice, got rid of the turtle shell! I like it now! I've never seen one that looked good to me with the cell,these boats aren't long enough for one, it looks way out of proportion! my opinion and I'm sticking to it! same for the little sst's!

I'll try just putting a flat piece on there too and see what I like better. The river racer model has a gradual slope on the sides from the windshield to the back where it gets lower. It does look better that way I think.
