Post subject:  A Race club race with a T850 & F4 tunnel

Not a really competitive race. Just a couple of racers enjoying the FUN of playing and driving the race course. The T850 is 70 hp Yamaha. One thing T850 racers do overseas to make the older hulls more competitive with the newer Wing style hulls is move the position of the steering back in the boat. You can see the center bar in the video. Considering the boat has no power trim it handles very well. The F4 is the 4 stroke 60 hp mercury.
In the early beginnings of T class here in Ontario we had a club member with a larger tunnel that wanted to race in T class just for fun. That larger tunnel made large holes in the water in the turns and the T boats had a difficult time running behind it.
I few years ago we ran a S750 tunnel in T class. The smaller tunnel didn’t create the large holes in the turns and the T boats had no problem with it. So boat size does matter.
