It's half a 2.4L v6, off the top of my head I want to say around 1185-1190CC. |

As far as I remember it is around the high 1100CC mark, it would be wicked on an SLT. |

Just some THOUGHTS: First I have wanted a MOD VP or true tunnel class as part of our program for years. I have always gotten interest but not real commitment once you get to that stage. You do a lot of work. Spend a lot of money. For no result. The timing maybe better now to look at this again. We are seeing a slight decline in our number of classes, there is a better possibility of fitting a tunnel class into the day race schedule. So I think we first need to look at a few things: - the current insurance coverage under the policy I believe we are covered up to SST120 now, so that is OK and therefore no additional cost. TORC can confirm. - the class has to have safety cells and divers as part of the safety boat crews I think we should have divers anyway even without this class. Divers can be arranged and the cost was not that much. I have contacts. - it is difficult to revive an old class. You need to look at the boats in the area and re do the rules to fit those boats in. You focus on SAFETY, boat count, and comparing what you see in the racing. - think what is BEST for the class instead of want works best for YOU! - any new class is on probation...so use a wide scope in the initial rules |

update... Rules are drafted and things will move ahead slowly but will need to secure a few sites the class will still require CBF approval. The most challenging part is finding race sites. Most existing sites are already very full with existing class schedules I will be fielding 2 boats and possibly a third Who else has interest?? This will be a ton of work, if anyone has some interest shoot me a message |
