We had 3 records set in T at Gravenhurst
[1] in the first heat of T850 on Saturday we had 8 boats cross the start line. After one lap we were down to 3!!. We had 5 boats breakdown on the first lap.
[2] In T750 on Sunday, Matt and Jesse ran side by side for 3 laps at speeds over 60 mph. Great to watch!!
[3] Jesse did something special in that race with Matt. He hooked the boat EXACTLY in SAME spot twice on two consecutive laps.

OUR FIRST 4 STROKE RAN IN T750!!
Tom ran his Rapid Craft 60hp 4 stroke Mercury race motor in T750.
The race weekend did not start well on Saturday for Tom as the boat did not handle well Saturday and Tom did not realize how rough the water gets in T class. Overall the boat was a good success and the future looks bright for this one and other similar 4 stroke boats. The boat GPS speed was 57 mph on the straights. Not far off the top boats which run in the 60 mph range.
The boat accelerated very well. The motor handled the extra weight very well unlike the 2 strokes which slow with every extra 25 lbs. Some more driving on the race course, some small set up adjustments, a bit more prop pitch and a good start and Tom will be VERY competitive!!

Inspectors Note:
Racers are 100% responsible for their motor being legal.
Your motor should not be DQ'd just from a visual and compression check.
Visual:
Rule is very clear...The motor must look like a stock motor with the correct carbs and flywheel that came with that model of motor.
Compression:
The Max is 160 PSI...PERIOD!

TOP GUN HAS PARTS AND BOATS AVAILABLE
Paul is always there to help T racers.
Paul mentioned he has 2 short shaft 50 HP yamahas for T750 racers.

Looking at the steering cable mounting point on the steering arm this appears to be from Saturday when the steering was terrible. Tom repositioned the cable on the arm for Sunday. Tom had a close race on Sunday racing Todd who ran the toaster on Sunday. They battled the complete heat. I have to mention Kevi who ran the toaster on Saturday to a second place finish. That matches the toaster's Waterford performance. It shows how important driving is in T class and getting use to the boat.

It was great to get back out on the water again. Saturday was surprisingly hard on parts but still fun.

I get a lot of e-mails from people that have never raced and are afraid they would not be competitive with the top boats. So they do not show at the races. Being competitive means that you can compete with in the group. In a race you are racing the boat ahead of you and the boat behind you...that is your only focus. It does not matter if your battling for first or second last. The FUN is the competition. Talk to any of the racers and they will tell you the same thing. Large boat counts really make a difference and make for more competition with in the race.
