I have seen this boat up for sale several times and sometimes with a 70 hp Johnson on it. I got this boat new from Jim Tucker in the mid 80's. I originally put a 20 hp Mercury on it. My sons were 12 and 10 years old. A year later I put that 1984 30 hp Yamaha on it with a 18 pitch Mercury chopped reworked by John Beer. It ran high 40's. I sold the boat to a dad on Six Mile. It must have gone thru a few more owners. The boat still looks good.

NOW HERE IS A TRICK FOR PEOPLE WITH MINI VOODOOS!
Trust me it makes these boats rockets.
Get a 50 hp yamaha short shaft. It does not need power trim. Run a 3 inch set back. Do not use the 50 hp gearcase. Use a 30 hp yamaha gearcase. It bolts right on. The 30 gearcase is longer than the 50 hp. The 30 gearcase is much smaller than the 50 hp. Run a reworked 22 pitch chopper. Boat runs high 50's and handles perfect.
