Folks have been after me for a long time to start doing Carbon Fiber Alien style 2.5 Cowls... so here they are... this is the first one on the planet.. unless someone else is making them... ...first pictures of the first set... these have not been spoken for yet... they are infused as well... This cowl comes in at 5lbs, 4oz, pan is 3lbs and that is 2 layers of carbon twill and 2 layers of thicker carbon) very stiff and strong, skirt is 12oz, faceplate is 4oz... this can go together with stock merc hardware if you want to spend the money, bungee's or new hold down's i am trying out that will be as easy as a bungee, but way cleaner, flatter installation... make no mistake about itm they are expensive, they are a ton of work to make, but still way, way cheaper than plastic mercs at 2 or 3 times the weight...

e-mail me direct at mikenass@shaw.ca for pricing.

Thanks Jeff... well, we have been making some progress, we have the brand new hull mold done, of course we've had the new capsule deck done for a long time now and the new open drag deck plug is done, just needs final wetsanding, polish and waxing and it will be ready to pull a mold from... i think the new open drag deck will be very popular. When that is done, we'll be finally in a position to switch from the plug and mold building we've been doing for the past 2-3 years and will be switching to much more of a production mode... all the experience we've gained from infusing cowls and composites materials will help us a great deal in doing it in the boats... we've learned soooo much with the cowls that we will be using in the new boats...

cheers,

Mike

A carbon infused NTV would be on my list of "must have"... :D Made in Canada... Sweet... Your work has become legendary through out the Go Fast Boat World... A new carbon boat would be over the top... Sneak us a peek... :)

we make 4 versions of the drag cowls, 300X alien cowls, 2.5 alien cowls, old school mod vp cowls and yes the 225-300XS cowls in 2 versions... one is a very similar to a 300X alien, the other closer to a stock one... they both solve the wet air intake charge coming in from the rear of the stock cowls... Dave bush racing has seen significant HP increases just by changing the air intake away from the rear... both of these cowls use stock hardware and can be mounted in just a few minutes... we also make a air plenum for the alien cowl that directs the intake charge right to the trottle body... add the cowl and DBR's remap of your ecu and pick up about 22hp... we alo make a couple faceplates that you can use of stock cowls to get the air in from the front...
