Thanks Matt. I found one yesterday in Manitoba and it'll be shipped
tomorrow. Looks pretty straight. I believe with a light load it should
put me rpm / speed wise where that '84 235 likes to run. Looking fwd
to some field testing Sunday. :D

They are great props, thick strong blades and aggressive pitch. A 26 works more like a 28". Best part is they are usually alot cheaper too lol .You can tune the takeoff with the size of the bleed holes behind the blades. What I did with one of my props is I had John at Kawartha propellor machine the bleed holes out for the plastic Merc plugs, so it was easy to fine tune the size for take off.

Thanks Steve! I was talking to one of the knowledgeable lads there last week over
the phone. TopGun's been great too. Can you or one of the other pro's here inform
me on the diff. between a Raker and a Chopper for my applique from personal experience?

Mostly we's be in the 50+ range, but i'd like to be able to burn down
the lake occasionally with a light load, 2ppl, low fuel at 75+. (have a
leaking jackplate line that needs attending to
but that'll be attended to soon enough)

Looking fwd to your guys experience. It's difficult sometimes over at SCR&FL. :D

I am not one of the "pro's " lol but the raker is basicly a thru hub( meaning the exhaust travels thru the prop hub as opposed to over the blades as on a traditional over hub chopper , such as an OMC SRX. the raker will do what you want perfectly and run n fairly high as well. If you plug the two top water inlet holes on either side of your lower unit with epoxy or silicone, if you do not have a low water pickup nosecone, you will be able to run with the propshaft 1.5" under the pad to start and maybe move it up a little more, make sure you have a water pressure guage hooked up a no outboard should be without one. I bought the 89 225 looper for my last boat from a guy on Haliburton lake who had it on an 89 charger dl with a 26" raker prop it worked great.

Good results with the raker 26 as you suggested BeavertonAE. Would like to try a chopper now
:D
