Around Ontario in the 1950's there were many boat races put on by groups at different lakes and rivers. As a young boy I loved these events and we had 3 races near the cottage every summer. It was the beginning of OPC [Outboard Pleasure Craft} class racing.

TOO ME THIS BOAT IS INTERESTING....this type boat was the largest class racing at those races. Same hull, same motor only pull start and they ran a 2 blade Michigan race props. Racers would remove the side cover on the mid for noise. There were race groups from different lakes that would run the complete circuit every year. Most boats in the different classes were the same models. Molded hulls with centre decks, centre steer were the lightest and most popular.

1956, First boat my father had almost identical to this, controls/wheel at front deck, 25HP Johnson green monster, pressure fuel tank, fastest boat on Six Mile '56-58. I learned to ski behind it & would pull 2 big men. We had it into late 70's until transom rotted off.
25 Json was a beast, put more oil/fuel into the lake than Exxon Valdez.
$900/obo,....hmmm

Cool bit of history there.
I too learned to ski behind one of those. Fond memories but I'm not foolish enough to own a wood boat.
Still... It would look good at the dock, hmmm?
Na, never mind. Have enough projects lined up.

This is the model of boat that got me interested in Boat Racing. Only the first few years did the Glaspar G3 have the centre deck. There were not many G3's in Ontario in the early 60's . At the time these american built boats were costly. The one I got to drive was brand new and powered by an 80 hp in-line six direct shift Mercury. First plus 50 mph boat I ever drove. The impressive part was how softly it landed jumping a wake compared to the old molded plywood hull.
This is very original.
