I raced against a couple of these in the late 1960’s. They didn’t like turning the corners on the race course or rough water conditions, but given calm water and a long straightaways they were very fast and the record books show their success. https://www.ebay.com/itm/176324007809 |

One of my “Wish For Boats” was the smaller 13 foot version of the 16 shooting star. Only ever saw one in a picture. They did use the deck on a 13 foot V type hull , but that wasn’t the shoot star bottom. The original designs were all built of wood. Then molds were made of the wood boat. This is a 14 foot wood one.
